Kinchega NP
The campground at Kinchega NP looks rather inhospitable, but the owner was a nice guy, when he finally showed up.
They didn't have a gas powered BBQ ,so we had to chop some wood for a fire. I think we really earned our dinner this day.

And by abandoning our tent we had a much better nights sleep.
Kinchega NP has nice sceneries too, even though it wasn't as spectacular as Mungo. It consists mostly of flat land and Olli had a lot of fun driving around. I sometimes felt like I was in a rally car or a computer game.
Many years ago, there was a huge sheep farm and one of Australia's biggest sheep shearing stations, which you can still visit today. It took them 8 weeks to get this steam engine, on the right, out here. Even though this station had been shut down a long time ago, it still smells like sheep.

Broken Hill
Broken Hill is a mining town, which is also known for it's Flying Doctor Base. A hundred years ago they had the worlds largest
silver mine. Our campground even has a pool, and of course we immediately jump in for a swim.
- Hi dad, I'm not sure if you can read the street sign on the right, but is the Wolfram Lane -

Silverton, only a few km north of Broken Hill, is a kind of ghost town. We visit an artist who paints cars with vegimite and the
local hotel, which has been used for several films (Mad Max 2, A Town Like Alice) and lots of TV-ads.On a little hill, we had a fantastic view over the Mingi Plane. Here you can even see the curvature of the earth.
At sunset we decide to visit an art site on another hill some minutes out of Broken Hill. Artists from all over the world had been invited to create sculptures out here.
It wasn't something I really liked but the sunset provided some warm and soft light, which we could use for some pictures.
